Artisans Market Glebe Christmas Market 2022

When my son moved to Glebe last year he introduced me to the Artisans Market Glebe. The Glebe Artisans Market showcases local designers and makers. It has the reputation of being the best artisan markets Sydney wide.

Buying your Christmas gift from the Artisans Market Glebe Christmas Market is a win – win situation. Not only are you buying a unique high quality Australian handmade gift that your gift recipient will no doubt love but the Glebe Artisan Market is a non profit association run by volunteers that makes donations to schools and charities in the Glebe area. Each Christmas gift you purchase at these markets will be assisting the local Glebe community.

The Artisans Market Glebe includes a high quality mix of homewares, fashion, jewellery, art, beauty products and more. I love that everything sold is handmade by the stallholders.

Cambridge Christmas Markets 2022

The Cambridge Christmas markets are held in numerous locations across Sydney including the well known Christmas Markets Moore Park and Pittwater Christmas Market. These Christmas markets consist of more than 150 stalls including boutique fashions, unique homewares, food including artisanal producers, farm fresh produce and an abundance of festive foodie favourites such as Christmas puddings, Christmas cakes, Christmas cupcakes, gingerbread houses, Christmas cookies, Christmas rocky road and fresh cherries.

This year The Shire Christmas Market makes a welcome return by the beach also with over 150 stalls.

A new 2022 Christmas market can also be visited at Martin Place. This exciting new addition to the Sydney CBD Christmas festivities will feature 40 festive themed stalls. Martin Place is such a great location for a Christmas market with the festive Christmas lights display also in this location.

The Finders Keepers Markets have been leading a conscious shopping marketplace for over 10 years. Their market allows you to meet the maker and invest back into the community by shopping small and local this Christmas. Independent art, design and food stalls are all featured at these markets. This is a fabulous market to buy unique local Christmas gifts with interesting insights from the makers themselves.

The Cutaway is wheelchair accessible. Do note that dogs are not allowed and children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult due to licensing regulations. Entry to these markets is $5. Kids under 12 are free. Also note that the Finders Keepers markets are a cashless event so make sure to take your credit or debit cards or digital payment devices. No ATMS are available on site.

GISS German Christmas Markets Sydney 2022

In exciting news the German International School Sydney (GISS) is hosting another of it’s amazing German Christmas Markets this year. This German Christmas market Sydney 2022 is modelled on European Christmas markets and there is plenty there for both children and adults to enjoy. I love visiting this local Christmas market with my family every time it’s on.

The school transforms into a magical Winter wonderland with numerous fairy light covered open-air market stalls containing high quality craftwork, German style handmade ornaments, festive decorations, candles and wooden art to buy to start your Christmas shopping early this year.

There’s also loads of food stalls serving a banquet of hearty traditional German food and drink as well as delicious giant pretzels, roasted almonds and mulled wine.

Highlights for the children include roasting giant marshmallows and a lantern walk. There is also plenty of Christmas entertainment, games and rides for the children. This is definitely the best Christmas market in Sydney for kids.

Mosman Christmas Market 2022

The Christmas Mosman Market is an Artisans Market with an eclectic variety of over 130 stalls including jewellery, textiles, ceramics, homewares, fashion, skincare and gourmet food.

This Mosman twilight market has a vibrant festive atmosphere with all it’s sparkling Christmas lights and is the perfect twilight Christmas market for finding an exquisite handmade gift or Fair Trade item from various skilled artisans.

Entertainment includes live music, face painting and a visit from Santa.

This year there will be a brand new and magical Christmas Market in Sydney in the Royal Botanic Gardens to get festive spirits soaring across 16 nights in December.

The historic buildings along Macquarie Street will be illuminated with captivating light projections featuring a delightful Nutrcracker theme creating a striking path to the markets in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

The Royal Botanic Gardens gate will also open late and contain light installations, nightly entertainment and an enchanting Christmas market. The markets will include kids wreath and stocking workshops, as well as food and more.

These markets also include high quality nightly musical performances by David Campbell, Katie Noonan Trio, Bella Taylor Smith, Emma Pask and many more.

As a spectacular finale a Christmas dancing drone show will light up the sky each night of the market.

Sydney Fish Market 36 Hour Seafood Marathon 2022

Due to the often hot Christmas Day temperatures in Sydney more and more families are opting for seafood, and especially fresh prawn Christmas Day feasts instead of the more traditional hot Christmas meals.

In fact, according to the Australia Prawns Farmers Association a massive 6 million kilograms of prawns are sold in Australia during the Christmas season. To cater for this huge demand the Sydney Seafood Markets are open for a36 hours straight marathon in the lead up to Christmas.

In addition to containing six seafood retailers, the seafood markets also contain a butcher, greengrocer, bakery, bottle shop, deli and gift shop so you can get all your Christmas produce as well as some last minute presents, from this one marathon Christmas market.

Santa often makes an appearance at these markets too.

The Rocks Christmas Markets 2022

The Rocks Christmas Markets are one of the most popular Christmas Markets in Sydney. I visit these Christmas markets every year, not only to buy unique artisanal Christmas gifts and delicious food treats for my family and friends, but also to soak up the joyous Christmas atmosphere at these markets. I love the decorated Christmas tree near the entrance of these markets.

The Rocks Night Markets and surrounding cobbled laneways have some of the best Christmas lights and Christmas decorations in Sydney. The historic streets and laneways transform into a winter wonderland with ornament adorned Christmas trees, twinkling lights, shiny stars and even a giant snow globe.

Roving entertainers such as elves on stilts and lit up angels wander through these markets delighting shoppers. There is also live music, Christmas DJs on Fridays and Saturdays, and delicious holiday themed gourmet street food.

If you are only planning to visit one Christmas market Sydney 2022 I recommend visiting The Rocks Christmas Markets as a must do Christmas activity.
